Is Washable MESP Filter Reliable? Will Repeated Washing Reduce the Efficiency of MESP Filter?

MESP is an advanced air purification and sterilization technology that uses an ionizing device to negatively charge the air and then pass it through a washable filter to absorb airborne particles, while its high-voltage electrostatic field effectively kills bacteria and viruses. But some people might have doubt about this new technology. They may ask, it is great to have a washable filter without any consumble, but will the filtration efficiency decrease after the repeated washing? The company claim that the design life of MESP filter can reach 10 years, is there any scientific proof?

In 2017, we conducted a six-month experiment to test the efficacy loss of MESP after repeated washing. Every day the filter was cleaned and its CADR value was remeasured. We were happy that CADR has some fluctuations, and sometimes less than the nominal number, sometimes even more than the nominal number. The final result however, was that the CADR measured on day 101 was only 1.3% lower than the nominal figure. Given normal laboratory measurement errors, we can assume that washing of MESP filters does not result in any efficacy loss.
